Dental Assistant Program – 13 Weeks to a New Career

Launch your career in dentistry with hands-on, practical training that prepares you to work confidently in a modern dental office. 
Modern Dental Training of Cumming offers an accelerated, board-compliant program designed to build real skills from day one. 

 

Program Overview 

This 13-week course combines in-person clinical labs with guided online learning and independent study. 
Classes meet every Saturday from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM, giving students the flexibility to balance work, family, and education while developing the core skills needed to become a professional dental assistant. 

Students gain direct experience in chairside assisting, sterilization, radiology, and patient interaction under real clinical conditions. 

 

What You’ll Learn 

Each week builds toward clinical confidence and career readiness. Topics include: 

• Dental anatomy 

• Infection Control, sterilization protocols, osha 

• Charting, clinical records and Dentrix software 

• Patient emergencies/ Anaesthesia 

• Instrument identification  

• Chairside assisting and four-handed dentistry 

• Impressions, digital scanning, model pouring. 

• Temporary crown and bridge fabrication 

• Radiology techniques and digital X-rays 

• CPR, emergency preparedness, and patient communication 

• Professionalism, ethics, and practice management basics 

At completion, graduates receive: 

• Dental Assistant Certificate 

• Radiology Certification (Georgia State approved) 

• CPR/BLS Certification (American Heart Association) 

 

Hands-On Externship 

Students complete a 36-hour externship at a partnering dental office during or after classroom instruction. 
This real-world component reinforces classroom skills, builds confidence, and often leads directly to employment offers. 

 

Admission Requirements 

To enroll, applicants must: 

• Be at least 18 years old 

• Hold a high school diploma, GED or equivalent (foreign transcripts must be translated into English)

• Provide a valid government-issued photo ID 

• Have reliable internet access for online modules 

No prior dental experience is required — only motivation and a willingness to learn.

Tuition and Payment Options

Tuition for the full 13-week Dental Assistant Program is $3,500.

In addition to tuition, students are responsible for:

• $150 Enrollment Fee (applied toward tuition)

• $120 Book Rental Deposit (refundable upon acceptable return)

The enrollment fee is refundable only if cancellation occurs within three (3) calendar days of signing the Enrollment Agreement and before the start of instruction. It becomes non-refundable thereafter.

Modern Dental Training offers flexible payment options to accommodate a variety of financial situations.

• Enrollment Fee: $150

• Remaining Balance Due at Enrollment: $3,350

• Cash/Check Discount: $70

• Total Due: $3,430

• Payment Methods Accepted: Cash, Check, Credit/Debit Card, or Zelle

Option 2: In-House Payment Plan (13 Weeks)

• Enrollment Fee: $150

• Down Payment: $750

• Remaining Balance: $2,600

• Weekly Payments: $200 per week for 13 weeks

• Payment Methods Accepted: Cash, Check, Credit/Debit Card, or Zelle

• Failed/Returned Payment Fee: $25 per occurrence

Option 3: Third-Party Financing (Denefits)

Students who choose financing will enter into a separate financing agreement directly with Denefits.

Due to Modern Dental Training:

• Enrollment Fee: $150

• Down Payment: $1,000

Financed Balance:

• $2,500 financed through Denefits

Important Financing Information:

• No credit check financing option may be available through Denefits

• Financing approval is not guaranteed

• Payment schedules and financing terms are determined by Denefits

• Payments are made directly to Denefits

• The financing agreement is separate from the school enrollment agreement

• Students remain responsible for all obligations under their financing agreement, regardless of withdrawal, dismissal, or completion of the program

Additional Information

• Tuition and fees are not transferable to another program or term.

• Modern Dental Training reserves the right to cancel or reschedule a class start date. In such cases, students will be notified and offered the opportunity to transfer to another class or receive a full refund.

• Modern Dental Training is a private career school and does not participate in federal Title IV financial aid programs.

Enrollment Incentive

Enroll before August 1, 2026, and lock in the current tuition rate of $3,500.

After August 1, 2026, tuition will increase to $3,800 for future classes.

MDT is a Private School and cannot accept financial aid — all students qualify for in-house payment plans.
